In the past 6 months, I've started to spend a lot of time on the phone for work, so having a comfortable way to listen (mostly) to the calls has become quite important. I've tried various earbuds and a few Bluetooth headsets, but haven't quite been satisfied. Since I use the second line of my Ooma
for work, I have to use a Bluetooth headset (I used earbuds for my iPhone). The problem with this arrangement is that the headset has to have a physical mute button; this is a button that many manufacturers are leaving off their devices as they rely on the phone's mute capability. So my quest began in December to find a Bluetooth headset that had a mute button.
Somehow I stumbled across the Logitech h800
wireless headset. I purchased it locally in case I didn't like it. This headset looks bulky, but is quite comfortable and has been performing well when connected over Bluetooth to my Ooma and also when connected via the included dongle to my Mac for Skype calls.
I've setup many, many hours on the phone with the headset and have found the voice quality very good and the headset is comfortable. While the headset has been working quite well, there are a few disappointments with it. First off, it is cheaply made. For an $80 device, it is all plastic and the controls sometimes feel like they are going to break. Second off, it can't connect simultaneously to multiple Bluetooth devices. (You can pair it with multiple Bluetooth devices, but the first device that connects gets to use it.) I'd really like to be able to pair it to my iPhone as well as my Ooma. Third, it can't connect to Bluetooth and the Mac at the same time. I'd love to be able to wear them all day long and have it automatically switch between Bluetooth calls and Skype calls (as well as listening to music).

Summary
For my purposes, the Logitech h800 wireless headset is a life saver. Using earbuds or other types of headsets just have not been comfortable for me. With the physical mute button, I can easily keep working and then tap it to chime in on calls. The voice quality has been more than acceptable and I have been quite pleased with the headset. If you work from home and are on a lot of calls, I'd definitely consider buying these. I've had them since December and they seem to be holding up. Time will tell how long they last.

I’ve had two sets of the H800 headset. The first was sent to replace a PC Clear Chat headset that is now defunct and the 2nd one was sent as a replacement to the first, just 6 months later.
Yes, I agree, that they are comfortable if you want to have long conversations over Skype or the ilk. Sadly, the list of “Cons” far outweighs the convenience and usefulness and reflects Logitech’s manufacturing evolution. So the “Cons” (as I see them):Construction wise, they are cheap and that saddens me. Buggy and don’t like pairing with Bluetooth. Microphone quality is questionable and doesn’t appear to mute by pushing it up as the ClearChat model used to - as the ‘button’ is a part of the right ear piece and feels cheap and isn’t that easy to use.
But, it is the best one of the market at the moment but as soon as it is superseded, I will be taking a very close look at it.
In the meantime, I’m off to buy a Sennheiser PC141.
That’s my review and I’ve had 8 logitech headsets that tend to last 11months or less before dying.

Hi Lawrence,
The cheap construction is my biggest complaint. I’ve had no problems with Bluetooth on it and the mute button works fine. I’d be willing to spend more on a higher quality headset with the same features, but I haven’t been able to find anything. It is pretty sad that I’ve been unable to find anything better.

I wonder if you can help me find the perfect multipoint head set? I have searching high & low, on the Internet & retail outlets. Online it seems u can never be sure, multipoint is one of the least well documented features. At retail outlets most staff don’t even know what it is, never mind how to help u find one.
Specifically I am looking for a headset (both ears, over the head) that will connect to my iPad (I would use this for dictating & listening to music while driving. I would have I connected to my iPhone at the same time & if a call came in I want to be able to answer the call & have the dictation or music “interrupted” & not lose the connection when done with the call. Not mandatory, but an added bonus would be when in my office I could set up similarilt replacing iPad with Mac book pro. Or, what the hell, might as well go for the whole 9 yards and let me flip around to all 3 as I see fit! Lol!
All kidding aside, I desperately want the 2 device multipoint, I don’t want to say I don’t care about cost, but that sure is hell is not the deal breaker.

LOGITECH H800 HEADSET,
I’ve owned one for about 3days now and i’m not impressed with it. I love the boom mic which is why i bought it, The problem is, when an incoming call is ringing, and i switch it to bluetooth, i still have to hit the answer the call button. On my Polariod and other Logitech headset just switching it to power on it automatically establishes bluetooth connection and answers the call right away.
The H800, seems not able to disconnect the call? My other 2 headsets allows me to press a button to hangup the call.
To me, the audio is not up to par, the calls seems muffled. And the most irritating thing about this is the switching from off to bluetooth, you have to toogle it back and forth to get it to rest on the middle selection for bluetooth.

I’ve gone through a number of headsets and by far, the ones I like for phone calls are the AirPods. Nothing else has come close to the quality (since the problems got fixed) and easy of use.

Not able to answer calls using headset controls. Have to use the computer. The whole purpose of unit was to be able to answer calls while not being in front of computer. Am I doing something wrong?
