My comments in this blog seem to offend some. For better or for worse, I speak what is on my mind. It sometimes gets me in trouble, but most of the time helps me get stuff off my mind. I will admit that I'm a Mac snob and want applications to have a Mac user interface; I don't want some cross platform UI (if the app works well and the engine or behinds the scenes stuff is cross platform, that's fine).I received email about a recent post where I basically said that the app's UI was crap. I couldn't get past the UI to actually use the app, so it could be a fine app, but the UI was just awful. For me, pretty much anything done in REALBasic that isn't tuned to the Mac is not a Mac app. Should the author be offended? Sure, he has the right to be offended if he wants. I stand by what I said about the UI; I like using a Mac and if I wanted to use Windows, I'd accept half baked user interfaces and put up with what is shoved in my face. Mac apps are just more elegant and have more polish.

If Mac apps are so “elegant”, then shouldn’t Apple design the UI of applications based on the UI of the OS they are designed for? I see no use Aero in iTunes here on Vista, and this grey just doesn’t match anything about Windows. And plus, the minimization button doesn’t even work correctly. I’m thinking iTunes is just one of these”half baked user interfaces”.

Fair enough that iTunes on Windows is a half-baked UI. Maybe it is Apple’s way to get people to move to the Mac! Unfortunately, Apple can do what they want if you want to sync your iPod/iPhone easily. (Yeah, I know you can use third party apps to sync).
Just switch to a Mac and you’ll see that iTunes fits more into the OS than under Windows! (However, iTunes still needs work on the Mac.)

Well, the new MBP's did catch my eye. They are said to be the fastest Vista machine. Too bad their out of my $ range.

I find it kind of funny that Apple has been making Intel based machines for only 2 years and they’re now making Windows machines that people like more than the other manufacturers that have been at it for a lot longer. A MBP is on my shopping list after I pay my taxes.
