Keeping good on a promise

In a pervious post, I said that I’d purchase the products from Potion Factory even though I currently have no use for them because Andy Kim’s open source PotionStore is a perfect solution for my own store. Well, I kept forgetting about this and finally got around to making the purchase this morning. Thanks again, Andy, for the store; not only is it working beautifully, it has also gotten me interested in Ruby on Rails.

  1. As I learn more Ruby on Rails, the more I’ll be able to take your codebase and modify it for my needs. You have some goods ideas like the activation stuff via a URL handler (which I’m adding to my software) that I can use as a basis for future modifications.

I’m amazed at RoR as I’ve added a few lines to my admin section which replaces pages and pages of php code I used to manage my existing customer database. Simply amazing!
