You should be able to read the manual and get started uploading data. Have you contacted Garmin? They should be able to help you pretty quickly as getting started is quite easy. I bought the Garmin 305 and run a lot now training for an Ultra 50 miler. I was able to upload the Forerunner log book for my wife but cannot get it loaded...or figure where to start with my 305.
